We’re going to do something new today! I’m going to share with you some of my favorite beauty products for February. A lot of my friends ask my opinion on different products, what I like about them, and what I have used or will recommend. Each month I am going to try to share with you various products that I have personally tested. I promise to give my full honest review and to only use products I have used on myself. I’ll share with you information about the products, along with links to where you can find them.

Farsali 24 Karat Rose Gold Elixir

First let’s start with my base. Taking care of my skin has always been a priority for me. Don’t get scared off by my first product, it is definitely one of the more luxurious things I own but it is worth it. I love using Farsali 24 Karat Rose Gold Elixir, this oil has saved my skin on numerous occasions. For the price, I definitely find it worth it. I prefer to by the smaller .34FL OZ/ 10 ML size versus the larger size.

This is for two reasons: I struggle with bringing myself to drop a lot of money on the large size and if something were to happen like I were to somehow break or lose the bottle it’s a lot less money wasted. Because this is a pricier product coming in at 20€ ($22) at Sephora for a small bottle, I am definitely careful with it. However a little goes a long way; two drops usually covers my entire face evenly.

Why It’s Worth The Price

So now that we’ve gotten over the shock of the cost, let’s move on to why I love it. I apply two drops to my face before doing my make up because it makes a huge difference in the foundation. I apply it before putting on any other primers. My foundation and powder look much more even on my skin with the help of this product and it prevents any dry patches from showing up.

I’ve also found that in the winter time it’s great to use over night to heal dry skin. My face is quite sensitive, I can dry out or become oily really easily. This product is one of the few things that has really worked for me, it absorbs quickly and doesn’t make me feel greasy. I’ve even noticed a softer more even texture and color in my skin when I use this product nightly. For a more in depth look on uses and ingredients you can read more at Farsali.com

Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation

Next is my favorite foundation at the moment: Urban Decay All Nighter Liquid Foundation. You’re going to quickly learn that Urban Decay is one of my favorite cosmetic companies. I love my foundation to be matte, like extremely matte. Also I like my foundation to be full coverage, to the point where there is no way you’ll see what my actual skin looks like. I know some people worry about the whole “caked on make up” look but that isn’t what I am going for either. I’ve always struggled with redness around my cheeks and jawline and have always hated it, so covering it up to have an even looking complexion is my goal.

If you never use foundation or you’re used to very light foundation, this would probably feel a little heavy for you until you are adjusted to it. However, if you are comfortable with most foundation brands out there, you’ll find this one isn’t heavy at all compared to the amount of coverage it offers. For 37€ ($40) I say it is definitely worth it, the packaging is durable so you won’t break it, and it lasts me quite a long time with daily use because I don’t need to use a lot of product to get the coverage I want.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

Before the next product, we need to prep our eyelids! The only product I trust to keep my eyeshadow in place is Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion. This. Stuff. Is. AMAZING. You’re eyeshadow won’t crease or smudge all day. It will also enhance the pigment or shimmer in your eyeshadow, which creates less product waste as you won’t need to pack on your shadow so heavily.

I’ve been using this longer than everything else I’ve listed. It was the first Urban Decay product I owned, and have been using religiously for at least 8 years now. There are 6 shades and 1 anti aging option for the primer potion; my personal favorite is Eden. 20.50€ ($24) is worth it in my book to have long lasting, flawless eyeshadow.

Anastasia of Beverly Hills Sugar Glow Kit

Time to highlight your skin! I’m going to do a little bragging about this next brand for a second. I’m sorry I can’t help it. Back when my mom first moved to Los Angeles for my dad, my godmother wanted her to go and get pampered. She took her to get her eyebrows and a facial done by a woman named Anastasia who worked in Beverly Hills, where my godmother was already a regular client. Needless to say, my mom had a great experience and her eyebrows were amazing.

20 years later and Anastasia is a major make up mogul. Now let me introduce this gorgeous highlighter palette by Anastasia of Beverly Hills. She has quite a few highlighter kits; this one is called the Sugar Glow Kit. This one is perfect for February, with it’s sweet hues it will compliment any Valentine’s Day or winter inspired make up look.

This product is 48€ ($40) and for the amount of shine you get it is worth the price. I’ve used highlighters in the past that you feel you use up half the box before you get any shimmer on your face. Anastasia’s highlighters give me the glow I want, and with some layering I can be seen from outer space. At least one of her highlighter kits are an essential in my make up bag at any time.

For full disclosure, I have never had an issue with ordering any of Anastasia’s products, but for some reason this particular palette arrived damaged. The packaging was fine, and 3 of the shades were fine, but the color gumdrop was shattered. I couldn’t be bothered to complain or send it back because I know how to fix it myself. I’ve been too lazy to fix it so I’ve just lived with it. No fault to Anastasia there, any number of things could’ve happened to the product while on its way to me and I’m sure if I had contacted the company it would’ve been replaced.

Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette

Now that our face is fresh, prepped and glowing, it’s time for the eyes. For February I’m choosing Urban Decay’s Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette. I have hazel eyes, so I love wearing any shade of pink, red, or purple on my lids to help the green in my eyes show up. When I first heard of this palette I knew I had to have it. My mom, being the amazing woman she is, got it for me for Christmas. I love this palette for February because it was perfect for Valentine’s day. Although these shades can definitely be worn on many other occasions as well.

There is a nice variation between soft and deep shades along with matte and metallic options. You can easily create a day time office look, or a bold evening look. The metallic shades in this palette are stunning, and my favorite part is you don’t have to pack on color to make it show up. The colors are vibrant and blendable, very easy to work with whether you are a beginner or expert make up enthusiast. The only problem with this palette is remembering that I have so many other palettes I have to make sure not to neglect the other ones.

The current price of this palette is 51€ ($49). Even though I got mine as a gift, I’d still say it is worth the price because I actually bought the same palette for my sister-in-law for Christmas as well.

Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray

Last, but definitely not least, is one of my all time must-have favorite beauty products. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. I already know for my wedding I will probably have two of the jumbo sized bottles on hand to keep my bridesmaid’s and I looking and staying fresh. This stuff is like hairspray for your make up. It keeps your make up in place, and even helps blend your make up to keep you from looking powdery or cakey.

The regular size is 30€ ($32) for 118 ml / 4.0 fl oz. This is what I usually keep on hand at all times, although I am looking into switching to the largest size. The Jumbo XL is 39€ ($39) 240 ml / 8.11 fl oz. I also like to keep a travel size on hand, hauling around all my make up is a major pain. For a travel size you get 30 ml / 1.0 fl oz for 13€ ($15). This product really is worth it. I always keep a back up bottle around so I am never out of setting spray.
